Matchable is going to change the way that companies do business, by embedding social impact into business as usual. Our digital matching platform reimagines volunteering by offering employees game-changing opportunities to work with non-profits and startups on innovative projects. 

Recent projects include matching the British Red Cross with lawyers Ashurst to look at legalising cryptocurrency as a form of donation, and matching WaterAid with design agency Studiomade to get affordable toilets into the hands of over 120 million people in Nigeria. 

We’ve seen fantastic traction since launch and have just closed a seed round of funding to drive our growth. We’ve secured contracts and delivered matches with some of the City’s biggest firms and are aiming to deliver over £420m of value and 600,000 hours to organisations changing the world over the next 5 years.

the role

We’re currently onboarding a large number of corporates, non-profits and startups to generate projects and create matches. 

This role is critical to our growth, we’ll be looking to this person to help us:

  • Optimise our onboarding process, for both sides of the market

  • Understand what makes a great match and why 

  • Design an efficient matching process that can be automated/codified and built into our MVP

  • Influence and provide direction with the product roadmap 

  • Test different sales channels and monitor KPIs 

  • Develop a model to capture key investor metrics / track and optimise against these

  • Optimise team performance against key metrics

  • Work toward known metrics for scale while experimenting and testing new approaches

We’re looking for an individual who is a self starter and happy to get stuck in to all aspects of the business. You’ll have an analytical mind, enjoy finding efficiencies in processes and be enthusiastic, ambitious and organised.

You will work closely with our CEO / Founder, playing an integral role in both business development and operations, helping to increase platform liquidity and accelerate the matching process. You will also work closely with the product team to translate and prioritise user requirements into our MVP roadmap.

We’re keen to support your personal development too, so any specific experience you want to gain through the role, feel free to share. As one of our first employees, you will be instrumental in setting the tone and culture of the organisation. 

key responsibilities

  • Assisting with outreach, willing to experiment through different channels (newsletter, networks / communities) and able to convincingly explain the platform’s benefits to potential customers. 

  • Tracking key leads on both the corporate and non-profit / startup side, maintaining the CRM and following-up when needed. 

  • Collecting relevant data on both sides in order to make matches. Ensuring a great customer onboarding process. 

  • Review and find efficiencies in the matching process, through automation and simplification. Willing to experiment and test different hypotheses working alongside the product team. Suggest improvements using data available and implement these. 

  • Generally happy to get stuck in on all aspects of the business, as a core part of the Matchable startup team!

ideal candidate

  • At least 2 years experience in a fast paced environment, this could be consulting, banking, tech or ideally an operations role in an early-stage marketplace startup.

  • Values driven, keen to make a difference 

  • Able to focus on both the big picture and the intricate detail

  • Ability to develop and implement a continuous operational improvement strategy, analyse data to manage progress, and communicate results to all stakeholders

  • Organised and process driven with good project management skills

  • Track record of getting things done and willingness to get stuck into tasks big and small

  • Effective communicator - able to express ideas and communicate the business offering in a clear and concise manner

  • Self-driven, happy to work and drive things forward independently whilst also being able to operate effectively in a team

  • Flexible - comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities, highly resilient

  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

  • Experience with web tools such as Typeform, Zoho, Zapier, Zendesk and similar is a plus

compensation / package

  • Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

  • Potential for share options
