MATCH EXPECTATIONS
IF YOU DECIDE TO WORK WITH AN IMPACT ORGANISATION PLEASE READ OUR GUIDE BELOW 📖
REPLY TO THE INTRODUCTION EMAIL TO ARRANGE A CHAT 📧
Team Matchable has introduced you to an impact organisation, yay! Follow up as soon as you can to suggest a time to chat about the project in more detail.
LET US KNOW IF YOU DON’T HEAR BACK FROM THEM 🤷🏻♀️
Impact organisations have a lot going on so it may take them a few days to get in touch. If you don’t hear anything please let us know. If they don’t get in touch within a week we can suggest a different match.
MAKE SURE YOU’RE ON THE SAME PAGE 🧑🏽💻
It’s important for you and your impact organisation to be on the same page if you decide to work together. Agreeing on a project goal and timings can be helpful to ensure this. We know things change but having a rough idea of how you will work on the project together is useful for both parties. It may help to agree on a set number of hours or set period of time to work together.
SET EXPECTATIONS 📅
To expand on the above point, it’s good for impact organisations to know how much of your time they may have and for you to know how much of their time you will have. Let them know if you have a set number of volunteer days to use on a project or if you’d prefer to work more flexibly. Tell them if you require a little more guidance or prefer to just get stuck in!
CHECK-IN WITH THEM 💬
We recommend regular check-ins with your impact organisation. They are busy people but it is useful for both parties to set aside the time to check-in and see how the project is going so try and push for this time together. If you are struggling to do this please let us know.
ASK FOR FEEDBACK ✅
Don’t feel shy! If you’d like feedback throughout or towards the end of your project please ask your impact organisation. It’s a helpful activity for them to do too so don’t feel bad!
LET US KNOW YOU’RE DONE 👋🏻
Please do let Lindsay know when your project has been completed! We like to put together a case studies to celebrate the impact you’ve made by giving back, so it’s great for us to know where you’re at with the project.
