Matchable's 2022 Roundup: Employee Volunteering

With 2023 just on the horizon, we wanted to take a look back at all that our team, our community of impact organisations and our volunteers have achieved together in 2022.

WE MADE EVEN MORE MATCHES

3,773 EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING HOURS

700 MATCHES

£1.6 MILLION IN VALUE

We delivered nearly £1.6 million worth of value to our amazing community of charities, social enterprises and impact startups, through nearly 700 matches.

Our volunteers collectively volunteered 3,773 hours to these impactful organisations; using their skills and expertise to help change the world.

Since Matchable began, we have provided around £3.5million worth of value to innovative organisations at the forefront of social and environmental change through corporate volunteering.

If you want to read more about our matches, you can do so in our case studies page.

OUR VOLUNTEERS HAD A HUGE IMPACT

This year, we saw so many incredible projects completed by Matchable volunteers, it’s nearly impossible to spotlight just a few.

Volunteers wrote articles on insightful topics, like learning to love your identity and being a new parent. They created important pieces of content, like this informative video on the important work of Frontline.Live Ukraine.

Westfield, London

Some volunteers even won awards for their volunteering work, like two volunteers from Braidr did for their research for Over the Bloody Moon, named ‘Best Use of Data’ at the UK Digital Growth Awards.

Volunteers also helped launch game-changing campaigns for organisations. Two volunteers from Dentsu developed the campaign, ‘Saving the Wales is pointless’ for Our Only World. The campaign, which pointed out the futility of saving marine wildlife without also protecting marine ecosystems, launched in multiple locations across London.

WE GREW EXTERNALLY

We’ve grown our client base to over 60 companies, with the Matchable platform now available to nearly 11,000 employees worldwide.

We’ve forged partnerships with companies of all sizes, locations and across a number of different industries, including The Creative Engagement Group, Markerstudy and Primark.

WE LAUNCHED IN-PERSON VOLUNTEERING

Whilst we’ll always believe that skilled employee volunteering is a huge part of generating impact, this year we came to realise the importance and significance of in person, team volunteering opportunities, too. We launched our ‘in person’ and ‘group’ filter options on the platform, and had the pleasure of supporting organisations like Support Ukraine, Spring Community Hub and Acton Homeless Concern with on-site volunteers.

The Matchable platform continued to prove itself in other ways, too, and we saw our fastest match record blown out of the water this year, with a match going through in just 3 minutes (down from 20 minutes in 2021!)

WE WERE NOMINATED

This year, both Matchable and it’s wonderful founder, Foong, received their fair share of awards and nominations.

We were ranked #17 in Escape the City’s top companies to Escape to in 2022, out of over 13,000 companies. We were also named as ‘Best for the World for Governance’ by B Lab UK, as part of their Best for the World 2022 campaign, which recognised the top-performing B-Corps in 5 different categories of impact.

Foong was selected as a winner of the Meta X Natwest GoBeyond #SheMeansBusiness competition.

Over 3,600 female founders and their companies entered the competition, with only 50 selected as winners. Go Foong!

BRING ON 2023

The last year at Matchable has been an amazing period of growth, learning and success. Of course, there were a few mistakes thrown in the mix, too, but as we always say - they’re only mistakes if you don’t learn from them. We’ve got some big plans for 2023, and we can’t wait to share them with our amazing community of impact organisations, clients and volunteers.
