B-Corp Month: A Closer Look

With B-Corp Month drawing to an end, we take a closer look at what the B-Corp accreditation means and why we’re proud to have it.

What does it mean to be a B-Corp?

B-Corp status is a certification awarded to for-profit businesses who can demonstrate a clear and tangible commitment to bettering the social and environmental world around them - generating both profit and positive societal change simultaneously. Transparency, compliance and a prioritisation of the wellbeing of employees and clients are also crucial elements of the B-Corp certification.

Crucially, all certified businesses are re-examined every 3 years against dynamic, progressive criteria, meaning that the B-Corp certification evolves with innovation and changing ideas. As a result, it reflects the highest standards and perceptions of what a ‘good’ business looks like.

What is B-Corp Month?

March is officially ‘B-Corp Month’: a month dedicated to recognising and celebrating businesses that are driving social and environmental change, both locally and globally, and carving out business as a powerful force for good.

What B-Corp means to Matchable

Matchable was awarded B-Corp status in 2021, and we’re incredibly proud of this accreditation. Moreover, this year we were named ‘Best For The World in Governance’, so in the top 5% of B-Corps globally.

As a business that’s constantly striving to make a positive impact on individuals, communities and the environment, having this commitment recognised is a great and important achievement.

We’re so proud to be a B-Corp as it not only shows that we meet the highest environmental, social and ethical standards, but also that we live by these values day to day.
— Foong, Matchable Founder and CEO

We’re incredibly proud to be partnered with so many other B-Corps, who are similarly committed to using business as a force for good and driving positive change. We’ve hand-picked some of the B-Corp certified Impact Organisations in our network, to showcase their incredible work striving for a more equal, sustainable future.

Stress Matters

Stress Matters’ mission is to reduce stress and poor mental health in the workplace, creating a happier and more productive workforce. They do this through a variety of support services enabling employers and employees to identify stress and its triggers, enabling them to make pro-active decisions around work-load, support and communication.

Flooglebinder

Flooglebinder is an organisation that offers educational trips to schools and colleges, families, groups, and corporates. The expedition is a journey towards understanding the social and environmental impact and making positive change, whilst also learning from nature.

Joining the People

Joining the People, an organisation that falls under the umbrella of Gas Studio, gives non-profit community organisations access to essential processes and knowledge, including an action-plan for building a brand identity, information on how to support funding bids and onboard volunteers, and how to explain to trustees, beneficiaries and policymakers their goals / achievements. By doing so, they accelerate the work and impact of non-profits all over the world.

ABOUT MATCHABLE

At Matchable we work with companies and their employees to match them with high impact and innovative skilled volunteering projects at non-profits and impact startups.
