Matchable January Round Up!

The Matchable Team has entered 2022 on such a high, and we couldn’t be more proud of what we have already achieved so far. We are really excited to make more incredible and impactful volunteering matches, but alongside that, we are focusing on what we know best - employee wellbeing, and purpose beyond profit.

In January, we were named as one of the B-Corp top 17 companies who deliver purpose beyond profit, AND we are in the top 10 Flexa most flexible companies! Read on to understand why this recognition is so important to us, and why we want to share and encourage this in other organisations.

Flexa is an awesome platform that identifies the importance of having flexibility in the workplace. This does not just come from having flexibility over where you work (although still important), but also how you work. In the modern working world, people are extremely time oriented - getting up at 6am to get ready and start work, having a set 1 hour slot for your lunch that you need to book in advance, then not being able to leave your desk all afternoon. But does this really work for everyone?

A recent survey found that just under 40% of people who are able to work flexibly believe that it has helped to improve their mental health, and a further 69% felt that flexible working has helped them to maintain a better work-life balance. The same proportion of individuals not working flexibly said that being able to would make them more productive.

Matchable are really proud to be named #7 of the top 100 flexible companies, offering flexibility in every way possible to ensure our employees are happy, have a great work-life balance, and are productive at work.

B-Corp recently published this article listing the 17 top vendors and suppliers that can help amplify your company’s impact, and we have been named within this list among some other incredible organisations.

Surveys have actually found some incredible statistics around both employee wellbeing, and business success if ‘purpose beyond profit’ (PBP) is a focus. For example, 80% executives believe that being an organisation that embodies PBP can increase customer loyalty, and 87% believe that companies perform at their best over time with PBP. When looking into actual employee satisfaction, survey results have found that employees who find their work or workplace meaningful are 69% less likely to plan on quitting their jobs in the next 6 months, and an average of 9/10 people would be willing to earn less money in exchange for the chance to do more meaningful work!

Purpose beyond profit embodies many exciting and positive elements whether your priority is anything from the success of your business to the wellbeing of your employees, and this is why Matchable are really proud to have been a B-Corp for the past year (and counting!).
