SOME RECENT MATCHABLE SUCCESSES

HR business partner MATCHED WITH ETHICAL activewear BRAND

Monika, an HR Business Partner at payment provider Cashflows, was studying for her CIPD Level 5 and was keen to put this knowledge to good use. She is a big advocate of body positivity and wellness, and passionate about preserving the planet.

We matched Monika with Zola Eve, an ethical yoga-wear brand that manufactures its activewear using recycled plastics and supports women's empowerment by promoting body positivity. They needed business advice and strategic support to set up a studio for training trafficked women.

Monika said “it was a match made in heaven” and she hopes to stay in touch after her volunteering journey comes to an end.

TECH CONSULTANT MATCHED WITH KIDS’ CODING CLUB

Prabjoth, from software company ServiceNow, is a programmer turned tech consultant. Recognising how his ability to code has set him up well on his career path, he was keen to share this experience to inspire young students.

We matched Prabjoth with Ignite Hubs, a non-profit focused on creating the best learning environment for children from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds. Prabjoth has been a code mentor teaching children 7 and above how to code and build websites, as well as advising on future career prospects!

Prabjoth said “Volunteering can be great when you can give back something you are so passionate about” and we couldn’t agree more.

IT MANAGER MATCHED WITH WOMEN’S CHARITY IN TANZANIA

Debbie, a Senior IT Manager at Softcat, was keen to find a volunteering project supporting women: “I’m painfully aware of how females are cast in certain roles from a very young age, and this affects their self-belief especially regarding their ability to succeed in technology.”

We matched Debbie with Lyra, a charity working to educate and empower girls and women in rural Tanzania. Debbie’s team are supporting Lyra with their Digital Education program, revolutionising the availability of educational resources through offline learning content.

Lyra said “With Debbie and her team's help, we will be able to amplify our work and identify new innovative ways to support rural students”, and Debbie said “I love working with Lyra. They’re a perfect fit for me”.
