EdenLAB + Softwire
EdenLAB will be a mobile Eden Project for London, in association with Eden Project International Ltd, an organisation that helps bring to life Eden projects across the globe. This mobile Eden Project for London is currently under construction in the Royal Docks.
The installation will explore our dependence on the natural world, asking serious questions about what a great future might look like for all of us. The installation will be held in collaboration with a number of influential artists and companies, and will be underpinned by community engagement and user-focused research led by London's world-renowned arts and design college, Central Saint Martins.
EdenLAB was originally planned as a high-impact, touring initiative with a pop-up experience planned at Glastonbury 2020 to begin to introduce audiences to the project (before this was cancelled due to Covid).
EdenLAB were looking for advice from a tech consultant on the best options for project management, file sharing and general internal communications for their team to work most efficiently, particularly as they grew in numbers in anticipation of the London mobile installation launch. Their strong commitment to the environment also meant they wanted any tools or platforms they used to be aligned with their ethos and considered for their environmental and ethical impact.
We matched them with Softwire, one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to work for. Starting with an initial call, an ethical tech consultant then spent half a day researching and analysing the best tools for the EdenLAB team to use - that would be both efficient and ethical, from Slack to Google to Whatsapp!
