WaterAid + Studiomade
WE MATCHED WATERAID WITH DESIGN AGENCY STUDIOMADE TO DEVELOP A MARKETING CAMPAIGN TO GET AFFORDABLE TOILETS INTO THE HANDS OF OVER 120 MILLION PEOPLE IN NIGERIA.
WaterAid was established in 1981, to work towards the goal of getting water, toilets, and hygiene to the millions of people still living without these basic human rights.
One in three people in Nigeria are currently living without adequate access to water - around 60 million people. Even more (67%, or over 120 million people) do not have a decent toilet. WaterAid is working to reduce these figures by raising awareness of the durable, cost effective toilets that are available. As neither the government nor development partners can provide toilets for free, WaterAid is trying to encourage low-income earners to purchase one themselves.
WaterAid were looking for help developing a marketing strategy for their WET (Water Easy Toilet) campaign in Nigeria, focusing on an overall ‘how to’ approach that could be easily shared with their staff and partners, moving affordable toilets up the list of essential items to buy.
We matched WaterAid with design agency Studiomade to work on designing a marketing strategy for the WET toilet.
They helped identify and design content to help market the WET toilet: marketing and sales material for potential customers, a sales deck to be used by door-to-door sales teams, and assets for social media. These content pieces were then be used by WaterAid as part of the campaign in Nigeria, to help further their goal of improving access to clean and safe sanitation.
