WE MATCHED Our Only World, An organisation RESTORING OCEAN HEALTH AND FIGHTING PLASTIC POLLUTION with Lenstore marketing colleagues, Stefania + Alexia, to help them optimise their website…

Our Only World is a not-for-profit charity concerned with marine plastic pollution. They engage with schools and businesses to raise awareness of the issue, working to avert the affects of the climate crisis. They run multiple projects, including installing water refill stations, siting harbour walls, and creating fun, interactive content to promote marine conservation to younger generations.

Founder Tina and her husband have lived and enjoyed a life in Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Zambia, and Australia. As avid scuba divers since the 80s, they want their grandkids to be able to experience the same things they did - in a plastic free ocean. Whilst this seems an impossible dream, they're passionate about preserving the natural environment as much as they can for future generations.

The Founders were looking for help perfecting the new website they’re building, and needed support defining what they want to get out of the site, how to measure success, and how to design the website / related content to achieve these goals. As a marine conservation charity, their website is vital for the continued support of their projects, and showcases who they are and what they do to the public.

We matched them with Stefania and Alexia in the marketing team at Lenstore, who were keen to apply their expertise in a completely new industry, and support Our Only World’s mission of creating sustainably healthy oceans…

When they first reached out to Matchable, the Lenstore team already had a passion for giving back, which started out by helping out at a local food bank during Christmas time. But they were worried about the uptake with in-person volunteering opportunities post-pandemic and a growing proportion of their team working remotely.

Members of the leadership team shared with us their goals to move away from just fundraising, and effectively utilise their team’s individual skills to provide the most impact possible to charities in need!

Whether it’s warehouse staff working the night shifts, or teams in the head office, they wanted an employee volunteering benefit that worked for all, and provided their team ultimate flexibility in how and when they make a difference.

Over the last 4 months using the Matchable platform, the Lenstore team have created over £20,000 worth of impact value to non profits largely from remote volunteering projects, and contributed over 80 hours of their time to charities, on their schedule.

They’ve also contributed to 13 of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals through their corporate volunteering so far!
